What is tEDx?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxStowe, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxStowe event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

speakers

At the heart of TED is ideas. Ideas worth spreading. Ideas that have started movements, shaped science, galvanized action, inspired belief, changed the world or changed just one life.  Every idea needs someone willing to stand up and share it. Someone to do the inspiring, open your eyes or perhaps change your mind. Join us at TEDxStowe to hear some of Vermont's foremost innovators, unique thinkers and inspiring story tellers.

TEDxStowe would not be possible without the support of our partners, who share our commitment to sharing ideas and building relationships that strengthen the community.

Spruce Peak is Vermont’s most elevated luxury slopeside community. Located at the base of Stowe Mountain Resort, it serves as the center of a uniquely Vermont mountain culture. Celebrating its 15th year, Spruce Peak has become a place where a close-knit group of more than 500 homeowners and members eat, drink, relax, play, and live. It’s the home of Stowe Mountain Lodge — the impressive and renowned hotel — and a members-only club with a  refined and elegant 20,000 square-foot clubhouse. Spruce Peak sets the stage for memories; at its heart a charming, geothermal-powered Village Center that offers access to adventurous activities, with an intimate 450-seat performance arts center, an award-winning Bob Cupp–designed golf course and a nearly 10,000-square-foot outdoor ice rink. For those also seeking something more indulgent there is a pampering spa with outdoor pools and a fitness center, and locally inspired dining and retail destinations. Spruce Peak is an Audubon-certified sustainable community, inspired by our alpine location to be engaged stewards of 2,000 acres of preserved Vermont land. For more information, visit sprucepeak.com. TedXStowe is made possible in part through a grant from the Spruce Peak Arts Community & Education Fund. The fund makes the Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center available to area groups who could not otherwise experience this world-class resource, as well as the capacity to reach out to students in Lamoille and Washington Counties offering school-time field trips, in-school residencies, and youth discounts throughout the year.
